Decode Your Financial Aid Award Letters

In this video you will learn about how to receive, analyze, and estimate your own Cost of Attendance (COA) from your financial aid award letter.

Five basic components of an award letter:

1. Tuition and Fees - Direct
2. Room and Board – Direct / Indirect
3. Books and Supplies – Direct / Indirect
4. Personal expenses - Indirect
5. Transportation – Indirect
*Direct & Indirect are categorized differently at each school
*Not all colleges list the Indirect cost on the award letter*
*Not all colleges list the COA on the award letter*
