Clark College Funding Inc. Provides Funding to A Child’s Place

July 29, 2011

The one place homeless children find structure and a sense of belonging is in school due to the interaction of friends and other students.  Unfortunately, with no permanent residence and a life in transition, most of these children stop going to school.  Thankfully, in 1989, A Child’s Place was launched through a partnership between the Charlotte, NC community and Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools to help these children.

A Child’s Place receives no federal, state, or local tax money and is 100% privately funded.

Thanks to a $375 gift from Clark College Funding Inc., A Child’s Place will be able to use these funds to help with its mission to:

  • Provide stable, appropriate education to homeless students
  • Provide support services to enhance their opportunities for academic success
  • Provide services to families to ensure long term stability and self-sufficiency

The gift is one of four that Clark College Funding Inc. is providing to local civic organizations as part of its Charitable Contribution Program, which aims to help children and families in need.
